Richard Baronins was a designer, project manager, and contract administrator for this project while at Verne Reimer Architecture. The existing port of entry required the addition of a new warehouse complete with loading bays, 3 new Primary Inspection Booths, outdoor storage facility, and completely reconfigured site circulation.

The southwest wall of the new warehouse is entirely clad in photovoltaic panels and provides electricity for the warehouse.

Three new lanes for incoming and outgoing traffic are covered by a new canopy which is an iconic entry feature for visitors entering Canada.

A main focus of the project was the logistical organization of construction. The entire port of entry was deconstructed and re-built while remaining fully operational. This required careful phasing of demolition and re-paving of circulation and parking areas. Project was completed in 2019.
